The oval window is a part of the middle |ear|. It is 20 times smaller than the |tympanic membrane| and has liquid on its inner side. The middle |ear| converts the amplified sound waves from the ossicles into mechanical vibrations which are efficiently transferred through the liquid of the inner |ear|.
